Yuka Poulastides

Yasuragi Massage and Reflexology

I began my massage therapy career in 2008 after gaining a Swedish body massage diploma. In addition I graduated at the top of the class in 2010 from the Complementary Therapy course at Sussex Downs College, including Remedial Massage (Neuromuscular Technique, Soft Tissue Release, Trigger point), Reflexology and Aromatherapy.  I won the gold medal at World Skills UK in Advanced Reflexology and I gained the Hot Stone Massage certificate in 2010. I continuing education plans include Mastery course of No Hand Massage training, which I officially began to practice in June 2013.

I combine different massage techniques with Hot Stone Therapy to maximise benefits to my clients in any treatment.

I worked at St Wilfrids Hospice Eastbourne as a volunteer complementary therapist in 2012-2014.  I enjoyed supporting their patients with a loving touch.

I believe in the body’s ability to heal itself and that massage therapy is one of the many paths to restoring health and wholeness to the body.

YASURAGI  MASSAGE

Yasuragi Massage is a term that covers a variety of modalities to manipulate the soft tissues, relieve symptoms of muscular tension, aches and pains, loosen fibrous scar tissue and help to correct postural problems. Other benefits include aiding joint mobility and improving performance in sports as well as assisting in the elimination of toxins.

On a psychological level, massage is regarded as one of the most effective therapies for relieving stress and anxiety, helping to soothe the mind, increase energy levels and promote a sense of well being.

Yuka uses a variety of massage and holistic techniques and integrates them into her treatments. She specialises in deep tissue massage, relaxation techniques, trigger point therapy,  and soft tissue release for conditions such as sports injuries, headaches, emotional stress, nerve pain caused by tight muscles, frozen shoulders, sciatica, muscular tension and postural conditions. She encourages her clients to use breathing techniques to restore the balance of nervous systems.

"Right touch and right time; your body knows when and how to release the tension which doesn't serve you anymore."

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is based on the idea that you can access the whole body through the feet and hands. Pressure is applied to the feet or hands in order to stimulate the reflex points and helps to restore homeostasis(balance in the whole body and creating a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
